Study in the USA

Hi, I've made a test of proficiency in English by TOELF ITP. In order to get a place in the Professional Development Program for Teacher of English, PDPI by Comission FULBRIGHT. They are selecting english teachers of Public School at Brazil to increase their knowledges about English at USA.
The Program will pay all cost that you'll have, including  passages, accomodation and food. And you'll receive a help cost in money. The PDPI will last 6 weeks in some American University.
That's great!!!

I am competing...it'll be wonderfull if I get this!

The Strike of Teachers!!

Since September 26 we are on strike. Employees of public education in the State of Pará are asking the government for better working conditions. Teachers tried to negotiate with the government the national minimum wage for the beginning of 2011. The State asked us to wait until the month of October. We are in November and has not yet been paid as agreed. We believed that promise of State ... We are more than 40 days to strike and the government does not want to meet. If you check the website of transparency, you can know that the state has money. But he does not want to do it. So I wonder: education is important for the state as it is for us?

In 2011, greats news for me... Finaly, I moved my job for Ananindeua. Now, I work near to my house, I can go walking to job. My life improved so much, my wife loved that conquest! because we get more time together!

I Encontro de Professores da SIE

In the last year, I posted here a mensage about SEDUC don't make meeting with teachers about TIC... However, in 16 and 17 of september, I went to the "First Meeting Teacher of Classroom Informatic Educational". It was rewarding to improve our experiences in this pedagogic space. Many teachers of all state together were exposing their difficulties and progresses at school with TIC. On Brazil, in generic way, informatic still be exclusive for minority people.

Escola em crise!

A insalubridade é triste, muita poeira, o calor insoportavel a tarde, as salas são abafadas, nao temos BANHEIROS para os funcionários, nao existe nem uma TORNEIRA para lavarmos aos maos. Os risco de uma doença (como o virus H1N1) se espalhar são faceis... De quem é a responsabilidade??

Violence

Today's society is increasingly concerned about the rising tide of violence, which unfortunately arrived into the school environment. Students are increasingly intolerant, do not respect themselves more, not comply with the authorities at school. We are experiencing a crisis of internal coexistence. Many teachers complain that the ECA (the Statute for Children and Adolescents) and the "Conselho Tutelar" is more that seem to encourage profligacy among young people than to defend their rights.
Whose responsibility of aggression at school?

Reading...

The students show many difficulties to make reading, they don't get spell many words. But there is some exception, like the student of school where I work, Terezinha de Jesus Ferreira Lima, Walmir of level 8th, in last year, who was selected to famous Tv Program, 'Soletrando', it almost reaches final of championchip.
We need to improve the reading, this will improve the other skills like writing.
How to do this? give your opinion!

Book in the Class Room

In nowadays, book is less important then the computer and the internet. Students give less attention to the books because of influence of TIC. I realized for majority of students, the books seem like old things that lose utility. In class when I ask about their books, they say: I forgot, it's so heavy. So I think, for students, read a book isn't so cool, but if you ask to read a text from internet, they demostrate more interesting.
Will be the end of book of papel? over digital book?

Caring School Enviroment

In most of schools there are problems with enviroment, because the students don't care about, however teachers and other school workers don't it too. I think in every school the teachers all of area, mainly biology and geography, need to make up projects of garbage, care with school enviroment and others that include all students.
